Online MSW Admissions Requirements

Admissions for the online MSW program follows the same process as the on-campus admissions procedures. The admissions requirements for the MSW program are established by the Admissions Committee and are consistent with the Auburn University Graduate School.

Online MSW Application Deadlines:

Fall Start:  Early Admission March 1; Deadline - June 1

Online MSW Course Requirements

The Program of Study for the Online MSW Program is consistent with the traditional campus-based program.  

Advanced Standing Required Curriculum

  • SOWO 7020: Psychopathology (3 credit hours)
  • SOWO 7030: Evaluation in Social Work Practice (3 credit hours)
  • SOWO 7010: Advanced Clinical Practice (3 credit hours)
  • SOWO 7940: Advanced Field I (6 credit hours)
  • SOWO 7960: Advanced Field II (6 credit hours)
  • SOWO 7950: Integrative Seminar (3 credit hours)
  • SOWO Electives (Minimum of 15 graduate-level credit hours)

Traditional Program Required Curriculum

  • SOWO 7000: Introduction to Social Work and Social Welfare (3 credit hours)
  • SOWO 7800: Human Behavior and the Social Environment (3 credit hours)
  • SOWO 7060: Social Work Practice with Individuals and Families (3 credit hours)
  • SOWO 7090: Advanced Social Welfare Policy (3 credit hours)
  • SOWO 7070: Social Work with Groups and Communities (3 credit hours)
  • SOWO 7700: Foundations of Social Work Research (3 credit hours)
  • SOWO 7920: Generalist Field (10 credit hours)
  • SOWO 7020: Psychopathology (3 credit hours)
  • SOWO 7030: Evaluation in Social Work Practice (3 credit hours)
