Finding Camp Watts Archaeological Field School
ANTH 4400 | 3 credits | Summer Mini-Semester I
Join a team of archaeologists, geologists and historians as we search for the remains of a Civil War Camp of Instruction in East Alabama! The Finding Camp Watts Archaeological Field School offers hands-on experience in archaeological field methods while uncovering material traces of the past.
Students gain valuable skills in excavation, survey and artifact analysis while working alongside professional researchers. Many past participants have gone on to careers in cultural resource management (CRM) or pursued graduate studies in archaeology, geophysics and history.
