At Auburn University, anthropology students gain hands-on experience through immersive fieldwork opportunities in archaeology, cultural anthropology and biological anthropology. Whether excavating historic sites, conducting ethnographic research or studying human remains, students apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings.

Field experience builds practical skills in research design, data collection, teamwork and problem-solving—preparing students for graduate study and careers in cultural resource management, museum work, education and beyond.

Explore the world firsthand and discover how fieldwork brings anthropology to life at Auburn!
