Bachelor of Arts in History

The BA in history requires thirty-three hours of history coursework. The specific requirements for the major can be found in the Auburn Bulletin. If you’re considering a career in law, education, business or a wide variety of other fields where research and writing expertise is valued, then our history major is designed for you. You’ll graduate with excellent communication skills, the ability to manage complex projects and exceptional research skills, which will set you apart in today's competitive job market.

History Minor

A history minor is a valuable addition to any major. With it comes advanced communication and research skills. A minor can easily be completed alongside major coursework without delaying graduation.  

Minor Requirements

15 credit hours (5 classes)

  • 2 classes 2000-level or higher
  • 3 classes 3000-level or higher
  • Courses can be on any time period or geographic region
