We offer the Master of Hispanic Studies (MHS). Our Spanish graduate program will prepare you for careers in teaching, business, government, world affairs, diplomacy, social service and law enforcement, and for doctoral studies in Spanish in the areas of literature, linguistics or foreign language education.

Master of Hispanic Studies (MHS)

The MHS degree consists of at least 36 credit hours. In addition to offering an introduction to the linguistic, literary and cultural heritage of Spain and Spanish America, our MHS places added emphasis on perfecting audio-lingual skills as well as practice in reading, expository writing and oral presentation. It prepares you for a variety of careers, for example, high school teaching and employment in the business world—which is experiencing an ever-increasing demand for well-prepared, bilingual personnel—and for further graduate study. You may choose an optional concentration consisting of no more than six additional credit hours in a graduate field(s) related to your major program (for example, English as a Second Language, history, political science, business or women's studies).
