  3. GRE scores: The MCP program does not require GRE scores, although some programs at Auburn University do. Therefore, you will see a section for GRE scores on the online application. You may submit these scores if you have them, but they are not required.

  4. References can complete an online form and submit an additional letter in the online application system through a direct link that will be provided to them.

  5. Statement of Intent: Upload into the appropriate section in the online application system a short letter describing why you want to pursue a graduate degree in Community Planning at Auburn University.

Graduate Assistantships

The MCP program offers a limited number of graduate assistantships to both international and domestic students each semester. Graduate assistantships are awarded on a competitive basis, based on a number of factors, including academic performance, skills and experience, and financial need.

Graduate assistantships are awarded for one year (two semesters) only. Given the limited number of assistantships available, the MCP program is only able to provide partial assistance, through graduate assistantships, during one’s tenure in the program.

To apply for a graduate assistantship, submit the following materials in the appropriate section in the online application system:

  1. Letter of interest highlighting your skills
  2. Resume
  3. Statement of claim (i.e., need-based or merit-based)

Priority Application Due Dates

Priority application due dates are March 1st for the fall semester and October 1st for the spring semester. Priority application dates are for applicants who wish to be considered for graduate assistantships.

The MCP program accepts applications for admission until July 15th for fall semester and December 15th for spring semester.
