Journalism professor wins top faculty research paper award

Auburn University Assistant Professor of Journalism Autumn Linford won the 2024 Top Faculty Paper Award from the History Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC).

Linford’s award-winning paper, “‘Is This an Evil Practice?’: Newspapers and Newsgirls,” examines gender, labor and journalism history.

The AEJMC is a nonprofit, educational association of journalism and mass communication educators, students and media professionals that promotes quality journalism and mass communication education, research and professional practice.

Linford received the 2024 Top Faculty Paper Award, which includes a plaque and cash prize, at the AEJMC conference in Philadelphia.
