Joyce Bigbee is director of the Alabama Legislative Fiscal Office. Bigbee served as fiscal officer for the House of Representatives prior to becoming director in October 1987. She has served as president of the National Association of Legislative Fiscal Officers. Academic background includes: Juris Doctor, Jones School of Law, 1986; Masters in Public Administration, Auburn University at Montgomery, 1978; Teacher Certification, Troy State University, 1974; and a Bachelor’s degree, Auburn University, 1971.
Bigbee’s academic and professional activities include serving on the AUM Board of Advisors for the Departments of Public Administration and Political Science, member of the Auburn University College of Liberal Arts Dean’s Advisory Council amd Jones School of Law-Board of Advisors. She is the recipient of many awards including the 1996 Distinguished Graduate Award from Auburn University Montgomery, Outstanding Graduate in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Auburn University at Montgomery and winner of the James D. Carter Scholarship Award for Highest Grade Point Average at Jones School of Law. She is also a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society at Auburn University at Montgomery.
