THE EFFECTS OF MUSIC ON THE ELDERLY POPULATION:
This video showcases our group service project done for Dr. Pifer's Music and Science course. Throughout the Spring 2018 semester, we have collaborated with Arbor Springs Health and Wellness Center to test how music effects the elderly population, coming to the conclusion that music has a very positive effect upon most participants. We studied how their motor movements compared to those without music as well as researched the effects of music overall in the elderly population in scientific journals and research studies. Through this research, we gained much insight into how the human brain responds to music and how music can be used as a tool for healing.
