Research and Teaching Opportunities
Graduate Teaching Assistantships (GTAs) and Graduate Research Assistantships (GRAs) are available. All applicants are automatically considered for an assistantship at the time of their application. Applicants should not contact the Ph.D. director about availability of assistantships, as they are automatically considered.
Assistantships are discussed by committee in March and April and are awarded based on merit. Notification occurs as soon as possible pending budgetary decisions and departmental needs. Assistantships can be held for eight semesters; assistantships are evaluated at the end of each semester to determine if students are making adequate progress.
