Auburn University Theatre and Dance will present the musical “Monstersongs,” opening 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, in the Telfair Peet Black Box Theatre.

Written by Rob Rokicki, composer of “The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical,” this spooky adventure asks audiences to consider things from a new perspective and get the story behind the scare. Incorporating musical styles from pop and rock to bluegrass and folk, “Monstersongs” invites you into the monsters’ world to share their space and empathize with their plight.

The show features an immersive “Monster Museum” preshow experience. Then, spend an entertaining night in the “Shadow Box” theatre, unleash your inner monster and explore the humanity that binds us all with “Monstersongs.”

The artistic team for “Monstersongs” includes Director Ashley Butler, Music Director Brian Osborne, Vocal Director Charlotte Lee, Choreographer Jeri Dickey, Student Costume Designer Mary Grace Sullivan, Lighting and Scenic Guest Artist Gordon Olson and Sound Guest Artist Cheyenne Dalton. The cast includes Caroline Brooks, Daisha Flint, Cecilia Frederick, Morgan McKenzie, Kevin Nelson, Alex Pharo, Garrett Scott, Salem Sheets, Evie Slaughenhoup, Tony To, Andrew Vance and Ashleigh Vickery.

The run time for “Monstersongs” is approximately 90 minutes with a 15-minute intermission.
