The Sociology Program proudly celebrates the induction of its newest members into Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD), the international honor society dedicated to promoting excellence in sociology. Since its founding in 1920, AKD has championed the scientific exploration of social issues and inspired thoughtful engagement in research, theory and public service.

On April 23, 2025, we hosted our annual induction ceremony, where AKD faculty advisor Dr. Makeela J. Wells formally welcomed this year’s inductees. The event honored the academic achievements of our students and their strong commitment to the core values of sociological inquiry, ethical practice and intellectual leadership.

We are excited to recognize and congratulate the 2025 inductees:

Alexis Alberson

Loren Carter

Caroline Cole

Lacey Crews

Allison Harbour

Jamia Jackson

Vikki Johnston

Denver Jones

Haley Morris

Anjolaoluwa Ogunsina

These outstanding students exemplify scholarly excellence and a deep passion for the field of sociology. We commend their hard work, dedication, and meaningful contributions to our academic community.
