About Razan Al Fakir
Visiting Assistant Professor

Dr. Razan Al Fakir has an MD degree with specialty training in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery (Syria, 1999) and audiology-vestibular medicine, followed by long-term clinical experience. Between 2010 and 2016, Dr. Al Fakir earned AuD and PhD degrees in communication sciences and disorders from Nova Southeastern University and the University of Florida, respectively. During her PhD program, she received several outstanding certificates, including the Dean’s Scholar Award from the College of Public Health and Health Professions in recognition of graduate scholarly achievement and professional promise. Post-PhD, she was awarded the Crawford Research Fellow in Otolaryngology at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology (audiology division) at the Mayo Clinic in Florida, and became a researcher for three additional years. She is involved in several international collaborations and has contributed to many academic journals, including the International Journal of Audiology, Ear and Hearing, Age and Aging, Journal of the Academy of Rehabilitative Audiology, and Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine.
