Elba Students Roll Out Fresh Look for School
Members and recent graduates of the Elba High School Interact Club completed their summer service project July 11. They, along with club sponsors Buffy Lusk and Laurie Chapman and Auburn University Living Democracy student Caroline Allen, repainted the parking lines of the student parking lot at Elba High.
The Elba City Schools Board of Education sponsored the materials for the projects, and the students painted in two shifts Saturday.
Lusk, who is also the guidance counselor at EHS, said she “appreciates that these students have school pride and care enough about their school to give up a Saturday and work in the heat to make improvements to Elba High.”
This project was one the Interact Club decided to do at a spring forum hosted by the David Mathews Center for Civic Life.
The students who participated in the project were: Mary Lacy Lusk, Kimberlee Deak, Summer Deak, Aaron Wilson, Tripp Hudson, Braxton Robinson, Chase Moseley, Stonewall Smith, Caitie Lusk, and Troy Funk.
