Description

This course is taught by the UAS Program Manager for Auburn University. It covers all required areas to prepare you to take the FAA Remote Pilot license test. Once you are registered for the course the Auburn University, the UAS Program Manager will send you links for some UAS study information. For individuals that have not been involved in the flying side of aviation, there is a lot to absorb in two days, so we will provide you with additional information to study PRIOR to the course instruction. The FAA test is offered on the final afternoon of instruction.

Course Dates

This training will be offered from 8 a.m - 1 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Sept. 7–8, 2023
  • Nov. 2–3, 2023
  • Jan. 11–12, 2024
  • March 14–15, 2024
  • July 11–12, 2024

Registration Fee

The cost of the training course is $300.00.

***IMPORTANT: There is an additional $175 fee to the FAA contractor, PSI, for the Part 107 test. Once you have signed up for the course, you will receive an email from Earle Thompson. This email will have study links. You will also get information on how to register for the exam to be taken on Friday at the end of class.

Driving Directions

This class is located at Auburn University Regional Airport, 2150 Bent Creek Road. If on I-85, take Exit 57, Bent Creek Road and turn to the north. Proceed to the traffic light at the intersection of Bent Creek Road and Glenn Avenue. Proceed straight across that intersection on Bent Creek Road to the airport parking lot. The terminal building is the one with the flagpole in front.

Parking Directions

Park in the parking lots at the terminal.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

If a registration is canceled for any reason, the individual or organization making the original tuition payment will receive (1) a full refund, less an administrative fee of $25, if the cancellation request is received in writing within 15 days of the start of the session; (2) a refund of 50%, if the cancellation request is received in writing less than 15 days of the start of the session, but before the start date; (3) no refund for a "No Show" or for a cancellation request received on the start date or after the session is in progress.

Note: A registration may be transferred to another person for a $25 fee. Auburn University reserves the right to cancel courses due to low enrollment. If a course is canceled due to low enrollment, registration fees are refunded in full.
