Auburn University Theatre presenting 'The Last Night of Ballyhoo'
Auburn University’s Department of Theatre in the College of Liberal Arts is kicking off its 105th season on Sept. 20 with “The Last Night of Ballyhoo” on Telfair Peet’s Main Stage. This play will be the first production to take place on the brand-new stage floor, which was renovated this past summer. The performances will continue through Sept. 28.
From the author of “Driving Miss Daisy,” comes a play that tells the often-humorous story of a family, community and a world on the cusp of great change. It’s December 1939 in Atlanta, Georgia. Hitler has recently invaded Poland. “Gone with the Wind” is about to open at the Loew’s Theatre. The entire Freitag family eagerly awaits the annual Ballyhoo, a lavish cotillion ball held at the local, exclusive country club. Find out more here.
