SMS Mobile Terms & Conditions

I. Introduction

Auburn University uses Salesforce Marketing Cloud, a third-party communications platform, to send SMS text messages to students, employees, and other stakeholders. This text messaging service gives you the option to subscribe to receive text messages from the Auburn University College of Liberal Arts (CLA) on your mobile device.

Text messaging will be used to provide information about events, news, promotions and other information. All mass text messages originating from any CLA office, or from any authorized CLA employee acting in his/her professional capacity, are included in this procedure. Message and data rates may apply.

By using the services, you acknowledge and agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in these terms and conditions.

II. Consent

By opting in to this service via web form or by texting UPDATES to 580368, you consent to receive mobile text alerts using an automatic telephone dialing system. Consent to receive marketing text messages is not required as a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

By providing your mobile phone number and opting in to the service you:

-          Authorize Auburn to send SMS messages to you using Salesforce Marketing Cloud

-          Consent to receive recurring messages relevant to your relationship with Auburn

-          Confirm you are the subscriber or authorized user of the mobile number provided

Consent is obtained in compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and is not a condition of admission, enrollment, or employment.

By signing up, you are confirming you are over the age of 13.

III. Message Frequency and Data Rates

Message frequency may vary by program, department, or user interaction but will be limited to strictly relevant communications. Standard message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier and service plan. Auburn University and its service providers are not responsible for any such charges.

IV. Opt-Out Instructions

You may opt out of SMS messages from the Auburn University College of Liberal Arts at any time by:

-          Replying “STOP” to 580368.

Once opted out, you will receive a confirmation message and no longer receive any more SMS messages unless you opt back in.

Auburn University is committed to protecting your personal information.

-          Personal data (including mobile numbers) is used only for authorized university communications

-          Data may be processed by Salesforce Marketing Cloud solely to deliver SMS messages

-          Sharing excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

-          Information is handled in accordance with Auburn University privacy policies and applicable laws

Auburn University may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updates will be posted with a new effective date.
