Auburn University Theatre continues their season with "The Theory of Relativity"
Auburn University Theatre presents “The Theory of Relativity” in the Telfair Peet Black Box Theatre. This magical chamber musical, directed by Jeri Dickey and music directed by James Mablin, opens on Oct. 17 and continues until Oct. 26.
Through a surprisingly joyous and moving collection of songs, scenes, and monologues, “The Theory of Relativity” reminds us of the connective tissue that links us all together. Developed from the personal narratives of a group of young actors, these stories of home, childhood, family, love and loss speak to our shared experience and what it truly means to be human…relatively speaking.
This production will feature an all-student design team in fulfillment of their senior projects. Our design and technology students receive foundational knowledge and hands-on training in scenic, lighting, sound, costume, and property design. They experiment with and apply new technical and conceptual knowledge, learning both in the classroom and through production work. They put in long hours working on the stages at Telfair Peet to create mesmerizing productions for audiences.
The artistic team for “The Theory of Relativity” includes direction by Jeri Dickey and music direction by James Mablin. The Auburn University student designers include costume design by Bonnie Crawford, scenic design by Inji Ha, and lighting design by Devin Stevens. The cast includes: Ashleigh Avallone, Jonathon Dickey, Ashley Digiovanni, Emma Fox, Emily Gant, Holden Mathison, Brady McNeil, Luke Sexton, Jenna Viana, Cassie Vitale, and Olivia Zeagler.
The run time for “The Theory of Relativity” is an hour and twenty minutes.
