Ruiz-Junco serves as visiting professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaiso

Dr. Natalia Ruiz-Junco, Associate Professor of Sociology and Undergraduate Program Director, was invited to serve in the role of Visiting Professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaiso (Chile). During her time at the Chilean university, Dr. Ruiz-Junco participated in several activities and led several events, including her lecture titled “Interdisciplinary Approximations to the study of Empathy and Compassion” and her qualitative analysis workshop for PhD students and researchers titled “Methodologies for the Study of Emotion and Affect in the Social Sciences.” During her stay, Dr. Ruiz-Junco attended the PhD defense of her doctoral student, Javiera García Meneses. Dr. Ruiz-Junco was her co-advisor. The now Dr. Javiera García Meneses achieved the highest recognition in her doctoral studies, summa cum laude.
