New recording studio featured by Yamaha
The Department of Music’s new recording studio was recently featured by Yamaha Music USA. The recording studio, along with two new majors, music composition and technology and commercial music, underscore Auburn’s commitment to a modern, interdisciplinary approach to music education and ensuring students are prepared for professional careers.
The 4,000-square-foot recording studio is slated to open in fall 2023 and will help bridge the gap between the business and the artistry of music. Students will also gain experience in record company management.
Auburn University was one of ten distinguished colleges and universities selected to be part of the inaugural Yamaha Institution of Excellence program. Institutions were chosen for their dedication to providing unique and challenging experiences to music through diversity of thought and curriculum, exposing students to a variety of opportunities to prepare them for the modern world of music.
