Auburn University is offering public service professionals a new pathway to advance their careers through its fully online Master of Public Administration (MPA) program. Designed with working professionals in mind, the program combines academic rigor, national recognition and the flexibility of asynchronous online learning.

“We are excited to announce the launch of our new online MPA program, designed to meet the evolving needs of public service professionals across the country,” said Kelly Krawczyk, professor and program director. “This flexible, accessible format allows students to gain the same NASPAA-accredited, rigorous education as our on-campus program while balancing their careers and personal commitments. Our mission is to instill in our students the capacity for civic agency, providing them with the knowledge, skills, values and motivation to make a difference in the civic life of their communities.”

The Auburn Online MPA is designed for professionals with three or more years of experience in public service. Students engage in collaborative learning with peers nationwide while balancing coursework with professional and personal responsibilities.

Auburn’s MPA program is ranked #70 in the nation among best public affairs graduate programs by U.S. News & World Report and is listed among the top 200 public administration programs worldwide. This strong reputation opens doors for graduates and adds value to their degree.

Students will enhance their studies by completing a required graduate certificate in one of two areas: Election Administration or Nonprofit Organizations and Community Governance.

The 33-credit-hour curriculum includes core courses such as Foundations of Public Administration and Public Service, Foundations of Public Policy, and Program Evaluation, along with electives that align with each certificate option. All courses are delivered in a fully asynchronous online format, giving students the flexibility to advance their education without putting their careers on hold.

Graduates of Auburn’s MPA program join a global alumni network serving at the federal, state, local and nonprofit levels, providing lifelong mentorship and professional opportunities.
