Auburn University’s Department of Music named to Billboard’s Top Music Business Schools for the second consecutive year
Auburn University’s Department of Music in the College of Liberal Arts has once again been recognized among Billboard magazine’s Top Music Business Schools, earning the prestigious distinction for the second consecutive year.
“We are honored to be recognized by Billboard as one of the nation’s top music business schools for the second consecutive year,” said Doug Rosener, department chair. “This achievement reflects the dedication of our faculty, the success of our students and Auburn’s commitment to preparing leaders for the evolving music industry.”
Being named to Billboard’s annual list is a significant achievement for Auburn’s young program. The department’s inclusion last year was remarkable, given that the Commercial Music program is relatively new. Earning the honor again this year underscores the program’s rapid growth, national impact and academic excellence.
“This recognition places Auburn on equal footing with institutions that have offered music business programs for decades,” said Jennifer Bohler, adjunct instructor and award-winning music business professional. “It also shines a global spotlight on our students, faculty and the innovative work happening in our classrooms and studios.”
Auburn’s Commercial Music major and Music Business minor are preparing students for success in one of the world’s most competitive industries. Current students have secured internships with major music companies, while recent graduates are now employed at leading global corporations, including Sony Records and William Morris Endeavor.
As the leading trade publication for the music industry, Billboard is considered the definitive source for music business news and trends. Recognition from Billboard not only affirms Auburn’s growing national reputation but also highlights the university’s commitment to providing hands-on, industry-relevant education.
