Trumpet Ensemble to Compete in National Trumpet Competition

Under Dr. Mark DeGoti, the Trumpet Ensemble will perform in the semi-finals for NTC in March.

The Auburn University Trumpet Ensemble has been selected to perform for the semi-finals of the prestigious National Trumpet Competition. They submitted a live video recording in December of Dr. Mark DeGoti’s arrangement of Mozart’s Magic Flute Overture for 8 Trumpets. The group will travel to Messiah College in March for the live performance. A huge congratulations to the AU Trumpet Studio!

Inaugurated in 1992, The National Trumpet Competition has provided performing opportunities, master classes, exhibition concerts, historic and commercial exhibits and an educational, supportive environment for nearly 3,000 students. To date, these students have represented 40 states as well 6 foreign countries. Nearly 100 Artist Faculty members coming from universities and symphony orchestras around the nation have donated their time and talents to judge these fine young players. Artists are chosen from among many of the trumpet world's greatest performers. NTC audiences have been inspired by performances of Canadian Brass, Grammy Award Winner Aruturo Sandoval, Maynard Ferguson, Phil Smith, Tim Morrison, Jens Lindemann, Alan Vizzutti and a host of others, many of whom waive their considerable fees to support NTC.
