Joint Band, Choral, and Guest Artist Concert on April 19
The Auburn University Symphonic Winds and Choirs will present a concert along with guest organist John Ferguson on Sunday, April 19th at 2:30 in the sanctuary of Auburn United Methodist Church.
Dr. Ferguson is an acclaimed organist, choral conductor, composer and teacher, recognized nationally for his talents as an improviser and leader of congregational song.
Highlights of the concert will include the finale of the Saint-Saens Organ Symphony, Howells's Magnificat, a solo organ performance of Reger's Toccata and Fugue, Op. 59, Nos 5 & 6, and a combined performance of Battle Hymn of the Republic.
Conductors are Dr. William Powell and Dr. Rosephanye Powell, choirs, and Dr. Rick Good, Symphonic Winds. Guest conductors include Dr. Sara Lynn Baird, Dr. Corey Spurlin, Mr. Brad White, and Mr. Gary Klarenbeek.
The concert will appeal to a wide audience. This is a wonderful opportunity for community members to hear Auburn University's premier music ensembles, and to experience wind, choir, and organ works.
