Guest Guitarist Patilla to Perform in Auburn on September 22
The Auburn Guitar Society and the Department of Music present guest guitarist Michael Patilla in a recital on Tuesday, September 22 at 7:30 pm in Goodwin Recital Hall.
In addition to teaching responsibilities at Mississippi State University, Patilla is a classical guitarist who serves as guitar program director for The MasterWorks Festival, an international performing arts festival held each summer in Winona Lake, Indiana. Additionally, he has performed as concerto soloist with the Alabama Symphony, Eastman Chamber, MasterWorks Festival, Red Mountain Chamber and Starkville-MSU Symphony orchestras, as well as Orquesta Filarmónia de Honduras.
The Auburn Guitar Society is a non-profit organization that promotes awareness, support, and advancement of classical guitar performance and education in the East Alabama community. While our focus is classical guitar, we collaborate with other arts and education organizations, as well as performers, to help encourage the rapidly growing appreciation of the arts in our area.
Because tickets are being sold by the Auburn Guitar Society, no advanced tickets may be purchased. Students, faculty, and guests are encouraged to purchase tickets beginning at 6:30 pm in Goodwin Hall. Tickets are $5 for students with a valid student ID, and only one ticket may be purchased per student. For general admission (including university faculty and staff), tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children; children younger than age six are admitted free of charge. The doors will open at 7:00 pm.
