AU Singers Spring Show Tickets On Sale Now

Tickets to the Singers’ Spring Shows can now be purchased from the Music Office.

The Auburn University Singers will present their annual Spring Show at Telfair-Peet Theatre on Saturday, April 26 at 2:30 and 7:30, and Sunday, April 27 at 2:30. Under the direction of Dr. Dale Farmer, the show choir will present a wide array of popular and show music, complete with costumes and choreography.  This year, the program includes songs from The Newsies, Avenue Q, and the award-winning Disney animated film, Frozen. A wide variety of popular music will be featured. 

Since its formation in 1972 by Dr. Thomas Smith, AU Singers has been in frequent demand, performing for television specials, conventions, community concerts, and various campus events. In May 2013, the show choir served as goodwill ambassadors for Auburn University on an eleven day concert tour of Belgium, France, Germany, and Austria.

Tickets are $5 for students with an ID and $10 for general admission. Tickets can be purchased starting April 14 by visiting the Department of Music (101 Goodwin Hall) or at the door.

Dale Farmer

Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Dale Farmer received the Bachelor of Science and Master of Education, and Doctor of Philosophy in Choral Music Education from Auburn University. As a student at Auburn, he was a member of the Concert Choir, Marching Band, and was a founding member of the Auburn University Singers. Dr. Farmer has taught middle, junior high, and high school choral music, music theory, music history, and drama in public schools in Americus, and then Tifton, Georgia. His choirs consistently received superior ratings at choral festivals, and he was selected as a Star Teacher on two different occasions.

At Auburn, Dr. Farmer has supervised music education interns, taught elementary music methods classes, music skills, music appreciation, and has conducted the Men's Chorus. He is currently in his sixth year as conductor of the Auburn University Singers, the university's show choir. In addition to teaching, Dr. Farmer has served as choral clinician, adjudicator, and curriculum consultant. His professional affiliations include Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the National Association for Music Education, and the American Choral Directors Association.
