Patrick Bruce

Patrick Bruce is the guitar instructor, guitar ensemble director, jazz combo director and co-director of Sonic Nation, Auburn’s commercial music ensemble. Bruce earned his BA from Auburn University and his MEd from Troy University. Bruce has been a full-time professional teacher at Opelika High School for the past 20 years. While at OHS he created a commercial music ensemble and a digital audio workspace class, and headed up the guitar department. Bruce has also held a private teaching studio for the past 25 years and has taught students of all ages. Bruce plays guitar, electric bass, drums and also sings. He has been a professional musician in the East Alabama area for 20 years and has been playing the local bar scene, weddings, private events and corporate events since his return to the Auburn/Opelika area. Bruce is a first call guitarist for many theatrical productions and plays guitar for church specials in the area. He loves making music and believes music is a great connector of people.
