Haein Kim

Haein Kim, born and raised in South Korea, earned her bachelor’s degree in piano performance and music education from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea, graduating summa cum laude. While pursuing her degree there, she served as an accompanist for Ewha chapel choir. Also, she was a winner of numerous national/campus competitions and received Academic and Artistic Scholarships, every semester. 

After coming to the United States, she received her master’s in piano performance at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, where she studied with Jean-Louis Haguenauer. She worked as an associate instructor in the piano department and served as a studio accompanist for voice and instruments. Also, she was a recipient of the Artistic Excellence Award and Jacobs School of Music Fellowship. As a lover of a variety of music from early to the contemporary period, she studied harpsichord and fortepiano with Hsuan Chang and recorded Secessionist Subjects (2013) which was composed by her colleague, Will Rowe.  

After getting married, she came to Montgomery, Alabama where she worked as a staff accompanist at Huntingdon College Department of Music. She has been actively teaching piano and coaching chamber ensembles to students of all ages in this area. Currently, she serves as a collaborative pianist at Auburn University Department of Music.
