Tannista Banerjee, a native of India, joined the Department of Economics at Auburn University after completing a PhD in economics from Purdue University in August, 2011. Banerjee obtained her bachelor's and master's degrees in economics from Jadavpur University, India. She also obtained a master's degree in economics from Purdue University. Her research interests include industrial organization, health economics and applied econometrics. She is interested in studying the innovation and competitive strategies of firms in the pharmaceutical industry. In particular, she studies the research and development activities, co-development and outsourcing contracts and marketing decisions of pharmaceutical companies in USA and in the global economy. Banerjee teaches microeconomics and health economics.
