Dr. Zachary W. Schulz is a highly accomplished educator and interdisciplinary researcher with a deep commitment to enhancing higher education and advancing public health. He holds a PhD in History from Purdue University, an Education Specialist degree in Adult Education from Auburn University, and a Master of Public Health in Health Promotion and Policy from the University of Missouri. His diverse academic background underpins a distinctive approach to teaching, research, and community engagement, bridging the fields of history, public health, and health policy.
With over a decade of experience in higher education, Dr. Schulz has taught an extensive range of courses, from world history and Western civilization to the history of veterinary medicine and comparative health systems. His teaching expertise spans traditional classroom settings, online learning environments, dual enrollment programs, and courses designed for international students. His dedication to fostering student success is recognized through multiple honors, including an Outstanding Service Appreciation Award from the Alabama Department of Public Health’s Oral Health Office for his work on the state’s first comprehensive report on oral health disparities.
