T.Y. Wadford is an applied anthropologist. After a 10+ year career in the Army/Military Intelligence community, T.Y. began their undergrad at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). T.Y. earned their B.S. in anthropology in 2020 and completed their M.S. in anthropology with a concentration in forensic anthropology in 2022. They started working at Auburn University in their current position in 2023. Their NAGPRA experience started in undergrad as a student worker laboratory assistant conducting inventories, assessments, and preparing remains for repatriation. They have conducted bioarchaeology field school in Brazil, historic archaeology in Tennessee, CRM projects in Pennsylvania and forensic casework in both the Northeast and Southeast United States. Their forensic archaeology experience comes from field seasons on DPAA partner missions excavating WW2 crashes in an effort to recover servicemembers remains and return them home.
