About Me

As a senior lecturer in the School of Communication and Journalism, Terri Knight teaches a variety of public relations courses. She received both her undergraduate and master’s degrees from Auburn University. Knight worked for over 20 years in the field of public relations and marketing in areas such as telecommunications, textiles and printing. From 1995 to 2009 she served as marketing director for Colonial Properties Trust at a regional mall in Auburn, AL, where she was responsible for all event planning, public relations, advertising, market research and tenant relations. While at Village Mall she obtained her Certified Marketing Director Designation (CMD) and was twice recognized by Colonial Properties for Marketing Director of the Year. She also has her senior practitioner designation from the Southern Public Relations Federation.

Knight is active in the local chapter of the Public Relations Council of Alabama where she has served as president, vice president of programs, and historian. She has also been recognized by PRCA with awards for several campaigns including “Village-fest 25th Anniversary”; “Catch the New Wave in Shopping”; and “Kids Come Help Us Grow”. Additionally, she was nominated as East Alabama’s PRCA Practitioner of the Year in 2001.
