Lindsay Rae Taylor is an actor, director, and lecturer for the Auburn University Department of Theatre and Dance (AUTD). She earned her MFA in directing at the University of South Carolina and a BFA in acting from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where she studied at the Stella Adler Conservatory and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (Shakespeare in Performance). Lindsay was an Associate Artist for the Aquila Theatre Company in New York City for seven years, during which time she performed in classical productions on Broadway, off-Broadway, across the country, and abroad. NY theatre credits include New Victory Theater, Lincoln Center Institute, Baruch Performing Arts Center, and the Pearl Theatre. Regional theatre credits include La Jolla Playhouse, Folger Theatre, Denver Center Theatre Company, Globe Neuss, Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles, Summer Theatre of New Canaan, Trustus Theatre, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and the Festival of the Aegean in Syros, Greece. Film credits include Stalled, Thanksgiving Dinner, Thinking Out Loud, The Summoning of Everyman, and The Filmmakers. Lindsay is an actor for Kaufmann Forensic Actors, LLC and a proud member of AEA. Recent directing credits include Into the Breeches, Romeo and Juliet, She Kills Monsters: Virtual Realms, Eurydice, The Wolves, Sense and Sensibility, Top Girls, The Bald Soprano, Aphra Behn: Wanton. Wit. Woman, Silent Sky and HIR.
Lindsay has taught workshops at New York University, Duke University, Oklahoma City University, Michigan State, University of Maryland, NC State, the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts, SETC, and the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. She also taught acting and directing at the University of South Carolina, Coker University, and the University of Mississippi.
