Laura Sims

Laura Sims, a native of Athens, Alabama, received her BA in theatre with minors in math and music from Auburn University (War Eagle!) and her MFA in stage management from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She has worked professionally both nationally and internationally in various management positions, and for the 15 years prior to this position she was the founding director for two separate performing arts centers: one for Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina and one for Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. At Auburn, Laura is the Director of Production, where she assists the department in realizing its artistic vision and its students in becoming career-ready professionals. In her spare time, Laura likes to travel, read books, watch movies, play Texas Hold ‘Em, and fill her TiVo with tons of prime-time TV.
