Kathryn Olsen Wickman received her BA in English from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina in 2000. She moved west to study comparative literature at the University of Oregon, where she specialized in modern fiction in English, French, German, and Danish. She received her MA and PhD in 2007. Wickman studies narrative structure and complexity, poetic language, and phenomenology. She is currently investigating detective fiction.
