Jennifer Johnson is a senior lecturer in the School of Communication and Journalism at Auburn University. She received her bachelor's degree in journalism from Auburn, and after a brief stint as a reporter at The Anniston Star, returned to Auburn where she earned her master's in mass communication. Johnson has been teaching communication, media studies and journalism courses at Auburn for the past 15 years, including the introductory course for all communication, journalism, mass communication and public relations pre-majors: CMJN 2100 - Foundations of Communication and Journalism.
She currently serves as the director of the public speaking program. In 2017, Johnson established a public speaking competition that takes place each fall and spring semester. The Philip Lutzenkirchen Excellence in Public Speaking Award is given to the top Auburn finalists each semester.
