About Me

Jay Pickern is an Assistant Professor of Health Services Administration at Auburn University. Dr. Pickern is a seasoned educator and manager with extensive experience in healthcare and business environments including retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, clinical research, and pharmacy benefit management. He has also taught at the post-secondary level in health administration and business management programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He has a Doctor of Business Administration degree from Wilmington University, an M.S. in Health Administration from Austin Peay State University, and a B.S.Ed. in Business Education from Valdosta State University. As a former department manager for a major US health insurance organization, he draws on his industry experience to enhance classroom instruction.
