Hyeongwoo Kim joined the Auburn faculty in 2006 upon completion of his PhD at The Ohio State University. His research focuses on empirical models of exchange rates, financial asset prices, and commodity prices. His research appears in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Applied Econometrics, the Journal of International Money and Finance, Economic Inquiry, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, the Journal of Empirical Finance, Economics Letters, International Journal of Forecasting, Empirical Economics, the Journal of Macroeconomics, Economic Modelling, International Review of Economics and Finance, Energy Economics, the Journal of Forecasting, Applied Economics, Applied Economics Letters, Tourism Economics, the Journal of Financial Services Research, Telecommunications Policy, the Journal of Policy Modeling, Applied Financial Economics, International Economic Journal, the Journal of Economic Development, Bank of Korea Economic Analysis, EconoQuantum, and Economics Bulletin. He has presented his research papers at the NBER Summer Institute, ASSA annual meeting, MEG Annual Meetings, Midwest Macro meeting, and many others. He also has served as a referee for the Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking, the Journal of International Money and Finance, the Journal of Banking and Finance, Economic Inquiry, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Economics Letters, Empirical Economics, Applied Economics, and many others. He serves an editor for the KDI Journal of Economic Policy and is associate editor for International Economic Journal and the Journal of Economic Development. He also serves as the Secretary-General of the Korea-America Economic Association. Outside academia, he is a member of the National Unification Advisory Council in South Korea and writes regularly for the Korea Times.
