About Me

Henry Thompson focuses on research in international trade theory. His research is published in over 130 articles ranked in the top 5% in Research Papers in Economics. His 5th edition of International Economics is forthcoming. Thompson has given over 150 seminars and professional presentations, and chaired 18 doctoral dissertations and 16 master’s theses. He also does consulting in energy economics. He is an honorary and founding member of the International Economics and Finance Society IEFS and Head of the Economics Unit at ATINER. Thompson finished his PhD in 1981 under Roy Ruffin at the University of Houston. He enjoys time with his artist wife Madeline Simos in Greece, daughter Stacy in human resources in Houston, and son Alexi in the economics department at South Carolina State University.
