Henry Thompson is an Emeritus Professor of Economics at Auburn. His research focused on trade theory in over 130 articles ranks in the top 5% worldwide in Research Papers in Economics. He has given over 150 university seminars and presentations. The 5th edition of his textbook International Economics is forthcoming. He has chaired 18 doctoral dissertations and 16 master’s theses. He does consulting in energy economics. He is an honorary and founding member of the International Economics and Finance Society IEFS and Head of the Economics Unit at Athens Institute for Economics and Research ATINER. He finished his PhD under Roy Ruffin at the University of Houston in 1981. He has associations with the University of Athens and the University of Peloponnese developed during summers with his wife Madeline Simos, an artist. His daughter Stacy is a human resource specialist in Houston, and son Alexi a professor of economics at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
