About Me

Erik Bowring is a retired Air Traffic Manager with 34 years of air traffic control experience with the Federal Aviation Administration. Erik has extensive experience in terminal operations with the FAA having served in various positions in airport traffic control towers and TRACONs throughout the US. Erik retired from the FAA as the Air Traffic Manager of Phoenix TRACON in 2022.

Concurrently with his time in the FAA, Erik was also a member of the Nevada Air National Guard where he served as a Weapons Systems Officer in the RF-4C Phantom II and a Navigator in the C-130 Hercules. He served in conflicts overseas during Operation Desert Storm, Operation Deliberate Force, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He acquired over 3,300 hours of total flight time and over 400 hours of combat time. Erik retired in 2007 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel after serving 23 years with the Air National Guard.
