Desire Ameigh is a PhD student in the English department at Auburn University and a Graduate Assistant at the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities. She earned an MA in Literature at Florida State University, and her current research focuses on parties and partying in 20th and 21st century U.S. American Literature. Desire’s dissertation will explore literary networks, politics, and culture, especially where these broad concepts intersect modernist literature, book history, and trans-Atlantic travel writing. In addition to her primary literary research, Desire is interested—and involved—in public humanities projects that promote literacy and access to intellectual and historiographical resources. She collaborates with the Alabama Author’s Project and her colleagues at Auburn’s Pebble Hill.
