David deBruijn completed his PhD at the University of Pittsburgh, where he worked primarily on German rationalism from Leibniz to Kant and contemporary questions in the philosophy of perception. Today he continues to work on these themes, especially the philosophy of John McDowell and the role of self-awareness in perceptual experience.
