Daniel joined Auburn University in January 2024. Before coming to Auburn, Daniel was a clinical-track assistant professor and FAA Part 147 coordinator in the aerospace department at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). He primarily taught in the aerospace maintenance management concentration, and some of his courses included Aerospace Vehicle Systems, Propulsions Fundamentals, and Aerospace Materials. He has also spent one year teaching at the University of Central Missouri.
His research interests include aviation insider threats, safety culture, and aviation education. He has been published in various journals, including Harvard Law School’s National Security Journal. He currently serves as the editor of the Aviation Technician Education Council (ATEC) Journal. He holds an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate, a Commercial Pilot certificate with an Instrument rating, and an Advanced Ground Instructor (AGI) certificate.
