Bradley Bennett has over two decades of journalism experience. He previously worked as a journalist at newspapers such as the Miami Herald, Detroit Free Press and the Sun Sentinel. He was executive editor of the South Florida Times, a community newspaper that focuses on the region’s African diaspora. He has also worked abroad, serving as an assignment editor at The National, an English-language daily newspaper in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Over the last decade, he has worked in various communications roles for nonprofits, including as communications manager of the Alpha-1 Foundation, a nonprofit seeking a cure for Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, a condition that can result in serious lung or liver disease; and as communications manager for Women in Training, Inc., a nonprofit founded by his twin daughters that provides menstrual education and menstrual products to girls in need. He also currently serves as director of editorial services for the Southern Poverty Law Center, a nonprofit civil rights and social justice organization headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama, where he directs a team of writers and editors.
