Dr. Bea Byulnim La serves as a collaborative pianist in the Auburn University Department of Music. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she studied with William Heiles; a Master of Music in Solo Performance from New York University, where she studied with Eduardus Halim, one of Vladimir Horowitz’s last students; and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Seoul National University, where she studied under Ick-Choo Moon.
Dr. La previously served as Lecturer of Music in Accompanying at Auburn University and as an Adjunct Faculty member at New York University Steinhardt School. She also served as a pianist and coach with the Opera Division at the University of Illinois. Currently, she is a collaborative pianist with the Atlanta Music Project, a nonprofit youth music organization.
