Andrew Lynch is a composer, sound designer, and performer. Recent projects include A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Director Patricia McGregor at UCSD, Downtown Stories with Directors Morgan Green and Jessica Holt for En Garde Arts, and The Eye Which We Do Not Have created by Kate Brehm developed at Harvard University, The O’Neill Theatre Center and presented at HERE Arts 2022 Puppetopia Festival. Additional projects include Calafia at Liberty with the Wetsuit Collective at the La Jolla Playhouse’s WOW Festival, Leap and the Net Will Appear presented by Catastrophic Theatre and New Georges, and King Lear and Cymbeline with the Houston Shakespeare Festival.
He is the sound designer for the touring production of PearlDamour’s Ocean Filibuster and was the associate sound designer for its world premiere at A.R.T. Original theatrical works include Le Gourmand or GLUTTONY! which the New York Times described as "so rich in musical abundance…so pleasing to the palate, it deserves a bigger table”, Paper Plane which was named a Critics' Pick by Time Out NY, and the folk opera Vestige which was presented by Columbia Stages and workshopped at the Musical Theatre Factory.
As a performer, he was Cadence Dakota Begbick in BREAD Arts’ itinerant production of Rise and Fall, Lloyd and Jacob in Jahn Sood’s musicals The Disappearing Man and In a Sea of Faces, and a Blue Man with Blue Man Group in New York and Chicago. He is a co-founder of the Brooklyn arts space Cloud City, and resident composer of the physical theatre company 3 Sticks. He plays multiple instruments including guitar, piano, percussion, bass, and cello. This past year he was a Mitchell Fellow in composition and sound design at the Mitchell Center for the Arts in Houston, Texas.
