Teaching the Humanities Workshop and Discussion

Teaching the Humanities Workshop and Discussion

Faculty and graduate students are invited to “Humans All the Way Down: A Discussion on Teaching the Humanities” on Friday, February 26 from 12 PM to 2 PM on Zoom. Registration is available at aub.ie/teachinghumanities.

In this workshop with Dr. Tom Rogers (Department of History, Emory University), we will open a forum for discussing humanities teaching approaches and techniques. Dr. Rogers will offer remarks that reach from classroom strategies to curriculum design and reflect experiences at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He will situate his comments in the context of current research on how people grasp the definition, worth, and role of the humanities. There will be ample time for asking questions, sharing experiences, and discussing.

The workshop is sponsored by the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities in the College of Liberal Arts and the Bill and Carol Fox Center for Humanistic Inquiry at Emory University. Funding provided by the Harry M. Philpott Endowment for the Humanities.
