Register Now for "Public Relations & Copyright"

Registration is open for the Community Arts Certificate "Public Relations & Copyright" course, to be held on Friday, October 3 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Participants will learn how to apply communication skills to help generate interest in their organizations and to examine the most up to date copyright laws as they apply to the arts and nonprofit organizations. Susan Waters, Assistant Professor in the School of Communication and Journalism, will lead the course. Seating is limited, and the registration deadline is September 1, 2014. 

The Professional Skills Development in Community Arts Certificate offers six modules that provide 20 contact hours of professional skills development education relevant to community arts management and individual careers in a supportive learning environment. Course emphasis is on providing practical skills and tools in the areas of media skills development and application, fundraising, public relations, copyright, leadership, and grant proposal development for community arts development. 

Individuals are invited to register for the full certificate, or for single modules. Registrants will receive a certificate upon completion of six modules (20 contact hours of instruction, two Continuing Education Units.)
