AU Singers to Lead Clinic and Perform in Elba, Alabama on November 5
The Auburn University Singers will lead a clinic for choral students from Elba, Andalusia, and Enterprise and hold a free, public performance at the Elba High School Auditorium on Saturday, November 5 at 6:30 PM.
The AU Singers is an auditioned show choir made of 42 vocalists and 10 instrumentalists and led by Dr. Dale Farmer, an original member of the group founded in 1972. At the clinic, Singers will teach choreography for several classic songs, including “Chattanooga Choo Choo,” “Hot, Hot, Hot,” and “Steal Your Rock-n-Roll.” Participating schools include Elba High School, Andalusia High School, Enterprise State Community College, and Covington County Choral Company.
The 6:30 PM South Alabama Singers Showcase concert with all groups is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6 PM.
"This is an amazing opportunity for our local choral students to collaborate with the AU Singers,” says Jason Tucker, Elba High School Choral Music Director. “I know this event will not only motivate and inspire them, but will also give them a chance to collaborate with other students who share their passion for music and the fine arts.”
The event is coordinated by the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities in the College of Liberal Arts at Auburn University. Contact Mark Wilson for more information, 334-844-6198 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
