Terms of Use

Welcome to our website. Thank you for your interest in the Military Affective Picture System (MAPS). The MAPS provides pictures normed for both civilian and military populations to be used in research on the processing of emotionally-relevant scenes common among military populations who served in operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)/Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). To use the MAPS please fill out the information below.  Students may not request the MAPS. A username and password will be sent to you along with a link to download the MAPS.  This link should not be shared or distributed in any way. By downloading the MAPS you (“MAPS User”) are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use. The use of the MAPS is subject to the following terms of use:

  • The MAPS is available for research and academic non-profit use only at recognized degree granting institutions, other non-profit organizations, and non-profit research at Veterans Affairs.
  • The MAPS shall not be shared, published, or made available to the media.
